Japan In Crisis-Duct Tape To The Rescue

When technicians dealing with Japan’s ongoing crisis at the Fukushima nuclear power plant site enlisted duct tape in their fight to get the disabled reactors under control.

Technicians described as “wearing goggles and duct tape” risked their lives when entering the highly radioactive reactor areas to attempt to gain control over reactors that leaked  into the water and air.

The techs used duct tape specifically to seal their gloves and boots to their “moon suits” in an attempt to prevent direct exposure to the air.
