How Did We Miss This Occasion?

gaffers tape form thetapeworks.com

We must have been really busy in August, because apparently we missed the birthday celebration for gaffers tape.

Gaffers tape was invented by cinematographer Ross Lowell in 1959, changing how cables were managed forever and giving a new meaning to the term “gaffer”.

Lowell, who won an Academy Award for Technical Achievement in 1980 for his development of compact lighting for film, died earlier this year.

He should have one for gaffers tape too!
