Yes, We Can Hear It. No, We Can’t Understand It!

windmillDutch video production company United provided flawless audio support for the telecast of the abdication of Dutch queen Beatrice and the ascendance of her son Willem-Alexander through the use of many strategically placed microphones.

One of the greatest challenges was letting the viewing audience hear the oath of office taken by 250 members of parliment, as part of the ceremony.

United was not allowed to have any visible microphones as part of the coverage.  They solved the problem with shotgun mics and wireless lavaliers with belt packs taped to chair backs with gaffers tape.
