Lots of states offer something called a “tax free weekend” this time of year to stimulate sales of school supplies and other school-related materials. It is good for retail sales and lets cash strapped customers save a little money.

Each state has it’s own set of rules as to what is eligible for this sales tax break.

For reasons obvious to no on, Florida exempts transparent tape but taxes masking tape.
