An apparent duct tape shortage in the lower 48 is the result of residents of Fairbanks, Alaska hoarding the precious commodity in anticipation of the annual Red Green Regatta, held in that Alaska city every year.
Local residents build boats from readily available materials, which must include at least one roll of duct tape.
