A thief that used duct tape to try to silence a goat he was stealing left behind more than just the goat.

The attempted theft of two goats, and the subsequent death of one of them, from a school’s agricultural barn generated evidence that police were able to use to eventually solve the crime.

DNA material left on the duct tape used to silence one of the goats eventually led police to the suspect after it was analyzed by the California Dept. of Justice.

The suspect,Bryce Zubicki, was charged with with commercial burglary, attempted grand theft of livestock and cruelty to animals. He was released on $50,000 bond.
