At Least He Didn’t Put Thumb Tacks In The Hammers

The master of the “prepared” piano,  Hauschka, stuffs a grand piano with ping pong balls and gaffers tape on his most recent album, Foreign Landscapes, to create buzzing percussive sounds.

Hauschka is known for taking the work of composer Erik Satie and giving it a twenty first century spin by adding material to a piano to radically change its sound.
