Photographers who rear lighting on their subjects have to deal with the strange phenomenon of glowing ears when the lighting shines through their models’ ears from behind.

The larger the ears of the models, the odder the effect.

You can minimize this “ear glow” phenomenon by placing small strips of gaffers tape on the back part of the ear to block the light.
