Conservators at Fort Johnson in New York’s Mohawk River Valley use a line of blue duct tape stretched around the fort to mark the high water mark during last years flooding from Hurrican Irene.

At one point water reached seven feet up the wall of the fort.

Restoration efforts continue as New York state parks address hurricane damage that was estimated to be as much as $12 million dollars.
