Gregory Simpson, a professional photographer and musician, has brought the classic pinhole camera into the modern age, fashioning a pin hole lens for his Leica camera by covering the lens opening with gaffers tape.
Leica cameras are known among pros for their uncompromising sharpness, but Simpson’s approach heads in the opposite direction. The lack of focus that his gaffers tape lens creates gives his photos an spooky quality, and he is able to capitalize on this quality in some stunning monochrome pictures.
